Hello everybody. In the office at work we have all DELL and desktops. I'm wondering if I can continue to upgrade the PCs without violating the Microsoft license. You must use the COA key. This will however ONLY work on 1 machine. You cannot use the same key over and over on many machines.
Once activated the COA key cannot be transferred to a new machine. When you install windows if it asks for a key you click the button that says " I do not have a key" and choose windows 10 PRO. All of the windows 8 machines I have done eventually activate automatically.
I too am a user. I perform an in-place upgrade to go from windows 7 to windows 10 and get the digital activation of every single pc. I already execute the procedure that you indicate but I do not insert the key present on the stycker glued to the pc case. Did I understand well? This method worked for me. Yep, I've posted about it many times now to give everyone a heads-up. It's worked as upgrade and clean-install for me lately earlier this year. I haven't tried using a Win-7 Home Premium key lately though, so good to know.
